Run off continues….

Not much new and exciting to report. The Bitterroot river is running high and off color and doesn’t offer many safe fishing options currently. Many folks including me have headed offer to the Missouri river to fish below Holter dam where flows are controlled. We are all anxiously awaiting the coming of summer and the […]

River shaping up for now…..

The hot temps didn’t last and typical spring weather has returned. Nights have been below freezing and days have been cool slowing the snow melt considerably. The Bitterroot has dropped a great deal since hitting flood stage a week ago. The water is clearing up as well. Even though the water is up and moving […]

Snow???????

Dry fly action slowly improving….

The Bitterroot continues to run a bit above normal but clear due to recent rains and some snow melt. Water temperatures remain cold and the best of the Skwala hatch has yet to come. The best time for dry fly action is mid afternoon, later if it stays warm. We are catching fish on dries […]
